On Oct. 18 the Democratic Club of Quail Creek (DCQC) welcomed its honored guest Patick Robles who has been the Southern Arizona Director for Senator Ruben Gallego the past 10 months. The meeting took place in the Ocotillo Room of the Kino Center at 3 p.m.

Robles is a native Arizonan and a graduate of the University of Arizona, serving as the student body president. He serves on the board of Sunnyside Unified School District Foundation in Southern Tucson and is involved in community service.

He will now be working with Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva who won a special election in September for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District.

Robles spoke to the DCQC members about Senator Gallego’s proposed immigration legislation that keeps the border secure but focuses on humane immigration reform, such as expanding pathways to legal immigration and providing pathways to citizenship.

Robles also mentioned Senator Gallego’s efforts to bring housing costs down for the average American and the senator’s commitment to education, especially at the community college level.

Most of the meeting was taken up with questions from the audience, answers from Robles, and discussion.
