TWOQC Spring Luncheon

The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) held their annual Spring Luncheon/Membership Luncheon/business meeting on March 4 in the Madera ballroom.

The theme was “Italian Charcuterie,” and the Decorating Committee truly outdid itself, converting the Madera ballroom into an Italian café. There were charcuterie boards on each table decorated with fresh fruit, bowls of olives, small bowls of potted live flowers, and wax-drip bottles using artificial candles. White napkins tied with festive bows with fruit and flowers were everywhere—truly perfect!

The special program, courtesy of Chef Aris, was a huge charcuterie board. He demonstrated Italian meats, cleverly displayed in decorative flower patterns using different twists and twirls, while making suggestions on how to use additional items to set up our own boards. The meat display was followed by block cheese cubes, grapes, walnuts, dried figs, and cherries and was topped off with a special infused black cherry dipping sauce and Dijon mustard. Chef Aris took questions as he was finishing the board, and afterwards, everyone got to not just view the finished charcuterie board, but to enjoy it. It was a gift to us from the chef!

Charcuterie was followed by a salad of greens, onions, pepperoni, and slices of Italian meats, served with a house Italian dressing. Dessert was vanilla ice crème with chocolate sauce, along with a cookie, of course!

After lunch, Debi Gutknecht, TWOQC president, opened the business portion of the meeting. Speakers included the TWOQC secretary, treasurer, and directors from Community Outreach, Scholarships, and Programs. Each spoke briefly about their various areas and how each contributes to The Women of Quail Creek organization as a whole.

The final event of the day was a drawing, and the lucky winner took home a charcuterie board personally prepared by Chef Aris!
