Area residents interested in empowering women and advancing equal opportunities for women and girls are invited to join the Southeast Valley Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
Membership is open to those with an associate (or equivalent degree from an accredited institution), bachelor’s, or advanced degree. Membership forms are available at the branch website southeastvalley-az.aauw.net.
The 100-member branch, which covers southeast Valley communities in the Phoenix metro area, brings in speakers for informative monthly meetings (currently online) and annually presents college scholarships and grants to local high school and college girls. Members also can participate in a wide variety of interest groups on topics ranging from books and history to mahjongg and bridge.
AAUW is the oldest women’s organization in the United States. Nationally, AAUW promotes gender equality for women and girls through education, advocacy, and research including such innovative programs as Work Smart, an online presentation that teaches women effective salary negotiating skills. As a member of AAUW, you will be part of a group that champions persons of diverse cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and professions. For more information, contact [email protected].
