The Green Valley Chapter Military Officers Association (MOAA) extends its sincere thank you to the Quail Creek (QC) community for their support for the annual Food for the Troops collection over the 4th of July weekend. Forty pounds of groceries, all from QC residents, were delivered to the 162nd Fighter Wing, Arizona Air National Guard. The donations were very timely because the shelves in the food pantry were bare.
A total of $625 also was donated, with all but $100 coming from QC donors. This money will be used to buy turkeys at Thanksgiving time as part of MOAA’s annual Turkeys for the Troops campaign. “Quail Creek’s generosity is amazing,” said LCDR Jim Knox, President of the MOAA Scholarship and Military Assistance Fund.
