Carol Signore
Quail Creek Gourd Club hosted 22 residents in March for a Beginner’s Workshop in gourd artistry. Gathered here with instructors Danna Haddock and Joyce Palm are attendees learning to clean, carve and wood burn at rotating stations around the studio in the new Center For Creative Arts.
At the workshop’s last station attendees learned how to mix and apply a four layered transparent glaze of ink dyes to produce the gray leathery color and finish on instructor Carol Signore’s elephant gourd mask.
Residents can watch What’s Happening for future workshop offerings in this exciting form of creative expression.
