May is Military Appreciation Month and The Women of Quail Creek took time to do something extra special for the homeless veterans supported by the VA Hospital in Tucson. Instead of receiving the usual door prizes at the monthly meeting, members were asked to bring a gift bag for the homeless veterans. Each bag contained items needed for the warmer weather ahead: sunscreen, Chapstick, hats, summer weight socks, grooming items and a few snacks. Most of the bags also contained a hand written note to the veterans who had fallen upon some rough times after their discharge.

When the bags were delivered to the VA, the program manager commented on how much they appreciate TWOQC’s supporting the homeless throughout the year.
