The Housing and Urban Development (HUD) – Veterans Administration Supportive Housing (VASH) program held its annual holiday gathering at the southern Arizona VA campus on December 5. Members of The Women of Quail Creek were invited to help distribute food and clothing to veterans and their families during the gathering. These veterans are currently living in HUD housing provided through the VASH program.

TWOQC members helped to serve food to the veterans and their families. The meal was then followed by an opportunity for each of the veterans and their families to select from clothing and household items. Most of the items were donated by residents of Quail Creek and the Greater Green Valley area during the recent TWOQC clothing drive. Bicycles and special household items were part of a raffle in which each veteran was able to participate and select a prize.

It was clear to the volunteers in attendance that the contributions made during the October clothing drive were much needed and greatly appreciated by the veterans and their families. TWOQC wishes to once again express its thanks to our community for the outpouring of support they show each year in support of our veterans.
