The Quail Creek residents again supported the Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team’s efforts to raise funds for cancer patient programs and cancer research for the American Cancer Society. Good, pre-priced, saleable garage sale items were delivered to the Hutcheson address from November 5 to 11. Thank you for the donations and to the volunteers who checked for prices, sorted and boxed the items during the week then arrived at 5:30 a.m. to haul boxes from the garage, courtyard, shop, casita and house to the tables lining the driveway to be ready for the 7:00 a.m. shoppers on Saturday, November 12. In seven years of sales, the top sales year was 2014 when the team raised $5,000 with more furniture and bicycles to sell. The 2015 efforts raised $3,800. This year eight Research Grants from $5,249,000 have been issued to doctors at the University of Arizona and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix from the American Cancer Society.
