Putters visit MountainView

Forty-four Lady Putters boarded a bus at Quail Creek at 7:30 a.m. on April 16 for the approximately one-hour trip to SaddleBrooke for a friendly competition with the Mountainview Lady Putters. The course presented some unique challenges being different in layout from the greens the “blue team” is used to. To present a unified appearance, the ladies all wore their Putters shirt or blue golf shirt with tan or khaki shorts, capris or slacks. This outfit contrasted with the brilliant pink shirts the Mountainview ladies wore.

After putting, the ladies enjoyed a Chicken Birdie Sandwich with chips and a carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese frosting for dessert.

Quail Creek Money Hole Winners included Frances Martin, Jan Ederle, and Barb Hunsinger. Names of the Mountainview money hole winners were not available as we went to press. Each received $19.00.

Jan Ederle, Roberta Wisniewski and Ro Conti had the Most Holes-in-One with three and each earned $3.00 for her achievement.

1st Place Team members Yoshie Hennessy, Barb Hunsinger and Dee Waggoner from Quail Creek and Marija Lewis and Doris Pipers from Mountainview with an average score of 29.4 each won $10.00. With a score of 39.6, Quail Creekers Jill Wibbenhorst and Judy McKinley and Mountainview ladies Pam Smith, Susan Bodine, and Sandy Valeton made up the 2nd place team and were awarded $5 each. The 3rd Place team, Diane Gordon and Pam Schroeder from Quail Creek and Pat Wysocki, Pat Wells, and Sandy Strack from Mountainview, won $2 each for their score of 49.0.

McDonald’s $10 gift cards were given as door prizes to 20 lucky ladies.

The outing organizers, committee chair Cathy Thiele, assisted by Joyce Walton and Yoshie Hennessy reported that the Mountainview ladies were very gracious hosts.
