MOAA fall luncheon speaker

Simon Herbert, historical preservation specialist for the historic Canoa Ranch, will be the guest speaker at the Green Valley Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Madera Clubhouse Ballroom 3.

Simon Herbert has worked for Pima County’s Canoa Ranch as an architectural preservationist and program coordinator since 2005. He has a strong practical background, including teaching building preservation trades at college level for 10 years, and has worked for a number of architectural and research firms. Originally from Jersey, Channel Islands in the United Kingdom, he holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania. Simon is also an architectural photographer and published author.

The menu will feature a Mediterranean salad made with mixed greens, gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and feta cheese with tzatziki sauce. Dessert will be a hearty slice of chocolate mousse pie. The cost of the meal will be $20, with checks payable to GV MOAA.
