With the beginning of the new year, the Writers and Poets of Quail Creek will kick off an exciting season of monthly meetings held every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Kino Conference Room. Membership is open to any Quail Creek resident who has an interest in writing. Our members range from experienced, published authors to those working on their first writing project, or those who may wish to begin one.
The first meeting of 2025, which was on Jan. 2, featured three of our members discussing various print and online sources that will help experienced writers, those who are just beginning, and those who wish to start a writing project. Our panel also showcased various writers conferences beneficial to writers at every level of expertise.
Our Jan. 16 meeting will showcase a presentation and discussion of the popular Microsoft Word program and its application to our writing projects. Come with your questions about Word and get valuable answers.
The first and third Thursdays are presentation meetings, while the second Thursday is devoted to planning (all are welcome to participate). The fourth Thursday is in the design phase.
We also congratulate our newly elected club officers: Joe Caldwell, president; Paul Riggins, vice president; Sandra CH Smith, treasurer; and Marlys Harper, membership.
