Donna Dabeck and her husband Rick Novosad hosted the Nurses of Quail Creek on Nov. 12 for a pretty amazing wine tasting event. They opened their lovely home to us. Yes, each nurse supplied a foil-wrapped wine bottle, but the many food pairings they supplied were served up to help us decide what foods go best with what wines. We truly learned so much. Rick was a wine encyclopedia. He filled us in on the whole process, from aging of wines to labels and skew bottles versus corks. Many of the ladies said, “I really know now what wine to serve with my Thanksgiving turkey.”
Thanks again to Donna who opened her home to us to keep the Nurses group going with such varied events. Our next gathering was our Holiday Luncheon and Nursing Cap/Pin Sharing on Dec. 8 at Stables Ranch Grille at the Tubac Golf Resort.
