TWOQC to host its annual membership appreciation and new member brunch

Marilyn Miller

This year the date for the popular Women of Quail Creek membership brunch will be Monday, October 28. The brunch will be held in the Madera Clubhouse Ballroom. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting, brunch and entertainment will start at 10:00 a.m. The complimentary brunch is an appreciation event for the members who have supported the many different club service projects this past year with great generosity and their time and efforts. This is also a time to renew your membership and an opportunity for new members to join. The annual dues have never increased and remain at $25.00.

All members, their guests and all Quail Creek women interested in joining TWOQC are invited to attend. All TWOQC meetings allow time to socialize, followed by a short business meeting and an informational and entertaining program.

TWOQC meets monthly during the year. In October the membership and new member brunch, which is complimentary, is held. There are two other luncheons during the year. A festive holiday luncheon is held in December and another themed luncheon is held in June. In the spring there is a bus/luncheon outing to a point of interest in or around the Tucson area.

This year the guest speaker at the brunch is George Hanson, the very dynamic conductor of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra since 1966. In addition to his duties as symphony and opera conductor, Hanson is a pianist, recording artist, television host, educator, community leader, fundraiser and a passionate spokesman for the arts.

Those attending are encouraged to bring toiletries or food items which will be donated to the Green Valley/Sahaurita Food Bank.

TWOQC Canvas Tote Bags and thermal totes will be available for purchase. There will be an opportunity to sign up for different club projects that will take place during the coming year.

The menu will be three mini croissants filled with chicken, tuna and egg salad, fresh sliced fruit and a carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Beverages are coffee and iced tea.

To make a reservation for this event you may sign up at the September meeting or at the Madera Clubhouse on either October 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon or on October 18 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. There is no charge for the brunch but you must have a reservation to attend. If you’d like to sit with friends you must make all the reservations at the same time. Please remember there is no cost to you to attend; however, the club will be charged for each reservation. Please be courteous and cancel your reservation by contacting Margaret Morris if your plans change and you will not be able to attend.
