On Feb. 7, 12 The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) members, led by Karen Woodrow and Brenda Rock, departed Quail Creek at 9:30 a.m. to head north to the Sonoran Glass Studio in Tucson. The studio is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring people of all ages to discover the wonder of glass art. The ladies were treated to a fascinating demonstration of glass blowing by two of the artists who taught them a bit about the glass, ovens, and equipment they use. While one of the artists guided them through the glass blowing process, another made a beautiful pitcher. The school also has a studio for making other fused glass pieces, called a Warm Shop. After the demonstration, the ladies enjoyed lunch at the 5 Points Market and Restaurant.
