The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) organization is excited to report we are within $6,000 of reaching the goal of $20,000 for the Scholarship Matching Fund Campaign. Donations have ranged from $25 to several thousand dollars. Every dollar donated is matched 2 to 1 by a $40,100 matching funds grant offered by a group of donors.
As of publication, $13,735 has been received toward the match. TWOQC thanks the Quail Creek residents who have responded generously to kick off this amazing matching fund opportunity.
The $6,000 left to raise to meet the match represents funding one $2,500 high school scholarship and one $3,500 Women in Transition scholarship. TWOQC hopes there are still others who may want to support women’s educational opportunities by making a donation. TWOQC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and this is a wonderful opportunity to triple the effect of your charitable gift.
Senior girls graduating from Walden Grove, Sahuarita, or Rio Rico High Schools who are headed for post-secondary studies may apply. Applicants to the Women in Transition program are women older than 21 who are seeking to return to school after having had to postpone the completion of their education for any number of reasons. Scholarship funds awarded are only paid directly to the school to cover tuition and school fees.
The Scholarship Committee receives applications from many eligible women each year who demonstrate financial need for tuition support. The goal is to be able to award at least 12 scholarships annually.
Please consider whether you might make a contribution to bring TWOQC closer to meeting the matching fund goal. We have just until the end of February to complete this match.
You can donate by sending a check made out to TWOQC with “Matching Funds Gift” in the memo line. Include donor name, email address, and postal address (to receive a receipt for tax records).
