On Jan. 24 The Women of Quail Creek On-the-Go group visited the Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium at the University of Arizona.

The day featured a walk through the center to see the “Wild World of Bugs” exhibit. The group viewed a fabulous, full-dome nature film, Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure,” featuring the fascinating universe of insects magnified up to 250,000 times their normal size.

From the Flandrau Science Center, the group traveled via streetcar to the Frog & Firkin restaurant on University Boulevard for a wonderful lunch with time to chat. Afterwards, they boarded the streetcar again for a ride through the downtown area and back to the Mercado San Agustin (MSA) to enjoy some light shopping. As a bonus, they walked a short block to the MSA Annex, a branch of the Mercado, made of old boxcars with a variety of small shops.

Many of the participants on this trip were previously unaware of the ease with which they could explore Tucson using the Sun Link Streetcar and said that they enjoyed the day so much that they will be returning soon—perhaps with their grandchildren!
