The Quail Creek Cancer Support Group meets every other month starting in January on the second Monday of the month from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (January 11, March 14, May 9, July 11, September 12, November 14) The meetings will be held in Room One of the Kino Conference Center. The support meetings are very informal and are attended by a small group of cancer survivors, caregivers, individuals who lost friends or loved ones to cancer and those who are interested in supporting cancer patients. Anyone who has been touched by cancer is welcome at these meetings. Contact Ginny Hutcheson at 520-906-0930 or [email protected] for more information about the cancer support group.
The support group endorses the American Cancer Society patient programs like the Road to Recovery program and the Look Good Feel Better program through Roberta’s and Nancy Hunter Wigs. The Quail Creek Road to Recovery representative, Terrie O’Dierno, coordinates with the American Cancer Society to find rides for cancer patients who need to go for treatments or doctor visits. Contact Terrie, [email protected], if you wish to be trained as a certified Road to Recovery driver. Contact the American Cancer Society at cancer.org or 1-800-ACS-2345 for the Road to Recovery rides.
