Tickets for The Women of Quail Creek Summer Luau Luncheon on Monday, June 30 featuring the Hula Sisters of Green Valley can be purchased by contacting Ann Nease at 404-9993 or [email protected]. Members of TWOQC, guests and Quail Creek women that have not previously attended a TWOQC function are invited to attend. The cost for the luncheon is $16 and attendance will be limited to 140.
The bar will open at 11:30 a.m. with the meeting starting at 12:15 p.m. followed by the luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Menu for the day will be grilled Hawaiian chicken salad, pineapple upside-down cake, ice tea, water and coffee. $3 mai tai drinks will be offered at the bar. All attendees will be greeted with leis, receive special tropical drink glasses and a few extra little surprises. After lunch, members will be entertained in true Hawaiian style by the Hula Sisters. The Hula Sisters began three years ago when four friends took dance lessons given by the Green Valley Recreational program and fell in love with dancing and performing. The group has now expanded to seven members with one non-performing member. When a friend told them about the Amado Food Bank, they decided to dance only for food, namely the Food Bank, taking no monies for themselves. They even pay for their own costumes and music.
The cutoff date for reservations will be June 20. Those wishing to sit at tables of 10 with friends should purchase tickets together. Photos will be taken so everyone is encouraged to wear tropical attire.
Attendees are asked to bring food, hygiene, cleaning and paper products to the luncheon for the annual Food for the Troops collection that will take place on the Fourth of July. All donations will go to the Air National Guard in Tucson. Checks may be made payable to GV MOAA Military Assistance.
