The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) will hold their annual Open House on Sept. 29 between 3 and 5 p.m. at the Madera Ballroom. The event is open to all women at Quail Creek—members and non-members alike and includes refreshments: Wine and lemonade will be served!
There will be a variety of tables representing the various activities of TWOQC so you can explore everything the organization has to offer. You will also be able to renew your TWOQC membership and join if you are not yet a member. It’s a great opportunity to learn all about this wonderful organization, explore new programs and activities, meet new people and make new friends!
TWOQC’s membership currently consists of over 300 women residents of Quail Creek, both year-round and snowbirds, and the organization’s Mission Statement says it all: “We are a Community of Women dedicated to Learning, Giving, and Engaging.”
Learning and Engaging
Members can participate in a variety of fun and educational experiences:
On-The-Go a series of fun group outings in and around Tucson
Crafts including rock painting, crocheting, and ceramics
Games wonderful group activities such as Mexican Train, and Hand, Knee and Foot to name just a few
And there’s also Book Club, Decorations Committee, Gardening Club, Connecting Over Coffee and much more!
Giving
TWOQC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Its two major charitable endeavors are Community Outreach and Scholarships:
TWOQC Community Outreach supports local programs such as Genesis House of Green Valley, a local shelter for abused women and children; Courtney’s Courage, helping families of children with cancer; and Honor Flight, dedicated to support for our local military Veterans. Past beneficiaries of Community Outreach have included Sahuarita Parks and Recreation, The Animal League of GV, and low-income senior living facilities.
TWOQC Scholarships Program supports funding educational opportunities for local women by awarding scholarships to young women graduating high school, prior high school scholarship recipients going into their second year, and women over 21 resuming their education to improve their lives. Committee members get involved in all aspects of the process including fundraising, reviewing applications, interviews, and following up with past recipients.
TWOQC also participates in Honor Flight, dedicated to supporting our local veterans.
