The Quail Creek Writers and Poets Club

Marian Stoddard

Club members participated in the 14th Annual Fall Festival Arts and Craft Fair, successfully selling many of our self-published books. The cooperative effort of 22 members who created the book The Power of Pets was a show favorite and is available on amazon.com as a suitable Christmas gift.

The Writers and Poets Club meets twice a month. Jerry Tinsley, writer and poet, led the first November meeting of the club with a Veterans Day presentation, inviting attendees to discuss how the past wars occurring within the members’ lifetimes have affected their lives and writings. The depth and breadth of the experiences recounted by those who served and those related to them were remarkable and will most likely petition a repeat next year.

The second November meeting was technical, with David Bareiss presenting an in-depth inspection of the club’s website QCWAP.org. Not only does the website, which all are invited to sample, cover the books and articles published by its members, but it also provides in-depth information on the processes for no-cost self-publishing.

John Murphy, writer and lifetime educator, covered the resources and technical issues for creating and maintaining personal blogs on the Internet, specifically serpentresearch.com. The website feedspot.com rates this site as one of the top 10 herpetology blogs on the Internet.
