The Democratic Club of Quail Creek is pleased to have Connie Williams as the speaker at our June 15 meeting. Global warming is a subject that affects us all and is real.
Ms. Williams contends that “the last three years have given us a taste of the impacts of global warming. In this presentation, we’ll look at the link between these odd new weather patterns and climate change, review key findings from recent assessments and look at some things we can do at an individual, local and national level to begin the shift to a low-carbon society. We can still avert catastrophic impacts but it’s legitimately time to panic.”
Connie Williams, retired math, scienc and environment teacher, has a background in Earth Science, a master’s degree in multicultural education and has had a 40-year love affair with the Sonoran Desert. She is a presenter for both Climate Reality (trained in Chicago, 2013) and Citizens Climate Lobby and she co-facilitates the Santa Cruz Valley Climate Coalition, an A4A focus group, with Connie Aglione. She was a PC for Santa Cruz County Democrats from 2015 to 2018.
Join us at the DCQC meeting on June 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Silver Room, Madera Clubhouse. All are welcome.
