Thank You to Quail Creek Residents Who Donated and Shopped at the Cancer Benefit Garage Sale

The Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team is very grateful to our Quail Creek residents who supported our annual Cancer Benefit Garage Sale. Their generosity raised $3,012 to help the American Cancer Society fund cancer patient advocacy, programs, education, and cancer research. The University of Arizona cancer researchers are often beneficiaries of our fundraising efforts. The Quail Creek team has been hosting and selling donated items at a benefit cancer garage sale since 2010. Thank you, Quail Creek, for your support.

The week before the sale was a great time to get reacquainted with many residents who again donated items for the sale. During that week, pre-priced items were dropped off so the team could check them over and sort them into containers with like items. At 6 a.m. on the day of the sale, friends and team members came out of the dark to help set up tables and carry tubs and boxes of donated items to the tables. Items were under the tables in boxes as well as on the tables when the 7 a.m. shoppers arrived. It was great fun to see so many Quail Creek friends shopping and visiting. Some generous shoppers brought baked goodies for the Relay team members to enjoy. Any items that were not sold were given to the White Elephant, Goodwill, or the Vietnam Veterans Thrift Store in Tucson.

The Relay team, along with other teams from Green Valley and Sahuarita, will attend the annual Relay For Life event at Rancho Resort, 1500 S. Rancho Resort Blvd., Sahuarita, Ariz., on March 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The team is inviting cancer survivors to attend and to be honored at 10 a.m. For more information and to join the team or to donate, go to www.relayforlife.org/gvsahuaritaaz and click on the Quail Creek Fights Back team or contact Ginny at rflginny@gmail.com.
