Peggy McGee
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 19, at 3 p.m. That’s the day that The Women of Quail Creek’s (TWOQC) Community Outreach Committee will host its first in-kind collection for 2024. In the past, the committee has provided support to local charities that help children, seniors, victims of domestic abuse, and teachers, but this is the first time they have helped pets who are often the only “family” in the area for those who chose the Greater Green area in which to retire. They will be supporting The Animal League of Green Valley (TALGV), a private, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to serving the people and pets of our community. They provide shelter for cats and dogs whose owners can no longer care for them, especially seniors in the Green Valley area; accommodate lost, unwanted, and abandoned pets; and arrange adoptions of pets to loving, qualified homes.
The event will be held in the original pickleball ramada from 3 to 4:30 p.m. TALGV President Kim Eisele will present information on the history and mission of the Animal League. Light refreshments will be served.
The group will be collecting items suggested by TALGV to support their mission:
