It’s the groovy ‘60s, baby! September TGIF Party will be in the Madera Clubhouse Crystal Ballroom with music by the Rusty Zippers on Friday, September 19. Ticket price is $18; a cash bar opens at 4:30 p.m. followed by a dinner buffet at 5:00 p.m.
The Groovy ‘60s—it brings back a flood of memories. At the movies it was Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Psycho and Dr. Zhivago; the fashions were mini dresses with go-go boots, tie dye shirts and bell bottom pants. Peace signs were everywhere you looked. We were hit with the British invasion and later Woodstock. Hit TV shows included Flipper, Gidget, Ed Sullivan (remember Topo Gigio?), Route 66 and The Dating Game all while trying to get you to “See the USA in your Chevrolet.” How about the ever annoying “Mother please, I’d rather do it myself” or “Brylcream – a little dab’ll do ya” or “Plop, plop, fizz, fizz.” So we’re bringing back the memories for our September TGIF Party in the Madera Clubhouse Crystal Ballroom; dress casual or dress for the decade.
