On Aug. 19 the Quail Creek Semper Fi Club (QCSFC) held its annual golf event to raise money for the Semper Fi and America’s Fund (SF&AF). This event is one of two major events sponsored by the QCSFC. The other major event is celebrating the United States Marine Corps Birthday on Nov. 10.
The SF&AF supports combat wounded, critically ill, and catastrophically injured U.S. Military members and their families. This year, to date, we have collected over $9,500 from local contributions and the outreach efforts of QCSFC President Steve Sanford, Col., USMC (Ret.). The significance of this donation is that Bob Parsons, owner of PXG Golf, will match the funds we have collected!
QCSFC Vice President Phil Perzan, Capt., USMC veteran, organized this charity golf event, which included golf and a superb lunch following golf. The “winners” of the golf scramble were Rena Gill, Bruce Rumford, and Rich Boyer. It was really great to get together, enjoy some golf, enjoy some food, and celebrate the Corps.
The Semper Fi Club is open to all retired Marines, Marine Corps veterans, active duty Marines, Navy Corpsman, families who have an association with the Corps, or if you are a friend of the Corps, you are welcome, too.
We have no dues, and we meet a couple of times a year (and a coffee a few times a year), primarily focusing on our charity golf event and recognizing and celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday. Typically, our Birthday Celebration is a semi-formal event that includes a dinner, guest of honor, and the traditional cake cutting ceremony.
To “join,” simply provide your name and a valid email address so we can communicate activities to you.
We are listed, with contact information, on the Quail Creek website under Active Lifestyle, Clubs and Activities, Semper Fi Club. We hope that you will consider being included in our club.
