Five Way Street Presents a Salute to Rock and Roll’s British Invasion on Friday, April 29, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the Madera Clubhouse Crystal Ballroom. Tickets are $20 per person. A cash bar will open at 6:00 p.m.
Five Way Street, known for their tight harmonies and spot on covers of many of rock’s legendary artists, presents this British Invasion Tribute Show performing songs from those iconic British groups that set the music scene from 1962 through 1967 and featuring hits by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Animals, The Who and many more.
It was the early 1960s. American radio stations played everything from old time country and western to popular crooners of the day and everything in between. But a change was on the horizon, coming from across the Atlantic in the United Kingdom in the form of energetic rock and roll music from such groups as Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Tremeloes, Herman’s Hermits and of course, the Beatles!
Time travel back to the days when Doo Wah Diddy performed by Manfred Mann shared the American radio waves with Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones. When sweet harmonies by Chad and Jeremy mixed with the pop vocal stylings of Donovan and of Peter and Gordon. You’ll reminisce to the tunes of the Hollies, the Dave Clark Five, the Yardbirds, the Animals, the Spencer Davis Group and many more! So put on your go-go boots, slip into your mod jacket, get a little rebellious and spend an evening singing along to the hits of the British Invasion!
