Sahuarita Food Bank Drive: Helping Folks in Need

Candace Plumlee

Caring Quail Creek neighbors always come through, but this year with COVID there was a need none of us anticipated. Via the Quail Creek Pickleball Club, you gave, and you gave, and you gave.

Paula Davis organized, with the help of the QC Pickleball Club and others in our Quail Creek neighborhood, a food drive for those in need. During the 12 days before Christmas, many generous Creekers donated just shy of 1,200 lbs. of food and $1,200 to the Sahuarita Food Bank. We had donation boxes at the pickleball courts and outside of Cindy and Mike Mueller’s home. The boxes were emptied each day to keep the javelinas at bay. The Sahuarita folks were so appreciative, they even came twice to pick up our accumulated stash.

This is a big thank you to everyone who donated and helped with this worthy effort for a worthy cause. We know that some folks in our area are happier and healthier because of us.
