Before Rick moved to Quail Creek in May of 2013 he lived in Kirkland, Washington, where he was only able to play golf on Mondays – and only when the weather allowed it. His golf buddies and he had a rule: “We wouldn’t start in the rain, but we would finish in the rain.”

Now Rick can play three to four days a week. Plus, you can find him on the practice range almost every day and watching instructional videos at home. Rick has two older brothers—one is a professional golfer in Washington, the other, Gordon, lives here and has helped Rick with his technique.

Besides playing golf, Rick works out at the Anza almost every night and is an avid ballroom dancer—his wife Kathi is a professional dancer and they even had a dance studio in their Kirkland home. Dance lessons have helped Rick develop his core, balance and coordination.

If Rick has a secret to his progress, he would tell you to be consistent, have fun and remember it’s a marathon – not a sprint.
