The Quail Creek Republican Club was honored on Saturday night, Oct. 22, at the Pima County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner at the El Conquistador Resort in Tucson. Pima County GOP Chairman Shelley Kais presented the award to Quail Creek Republican Club President Rich Ulery.
“This award is for clubs that more than serve the needs of its members through speakers, workshops, retreats, and other acts to continually educate its members.
“While all our republican clubs in Pima County serve the needs of their members, no club in Pima County grew at the rate this club did. Following shutdowns, meeting size limits, masks, and mandates, this club came back in 2021 and grew their membership to more than 300 paid members. The commitment to republican values and principles brought new members to the club to learn and socialize with like-minded individuals. Serving the largest republican precinct in Pima County, the Quail Creek Republican Club is this year’s recipient of the Membership Development Award for their service to their members and the community, coupled with exponential growth under the leadership of President Rich Ulery.”
October was an active, fun-filled month for the QC Republican Club. The club held its Oktoberfest barbecue on Oct. 14 at the Longhorn Bar and Grill in Amado. We all enjoyed a barbecue feast of roast chicken and ribs with all the fixins, along with an adult beverage, compliments of the club. Enthusiasm reigned throughout the room as our republicans prepare to work hard to elect republicans to national, state, and local offices.
At the Oct. 21 regular meeting, we packed the Ocotillo and Mesquite Rooms in the Kino Conference Center to hear from our new republican representatives in the Arizona House and Senate representing our Legislative District 19. Pima County GOP Chairman Shelley Kais gave an update on all the election activities of the county party. Arizona House members Lupe Diaz and Gail Griffin and Senator David Gowan each addressed the gathering. They each listed their priorities for the next session of the Arizona legislature, including border security, school choice, transportation funding, and fiscal responsibility.
The Quail Creek Republican Club will finish an educational and fun-filled year with an exciting meeting on Nov. 18 and the annual Christmas Wine and Cheese event on Saturday, Dec. 3.
