Quail Creek Quilt Covey

When the war broke out in Ukraine, several members of the Quail Creek Quilt Covey (QCQC) wanted to do something. That turned into four quilts being created in blue and yellow. The Quilt Covey began to ponder how best to get the completed quilts to Ukrainians.

At the general meeting of the QCQC in the Spring of 2024, the issue was discussed, and Jude Watry volunteered to take the quilts to Lithuania where she teaches English Language Learning (ELL) students every summer at LCC International University. Four quilts were entrusted to her. She was able to distribute the quilts to four separate Ukrainian students, with reminders that the ladies of the QCQC had not forgotten them.

This June, Jude and Margaret Lauffenburger returned for a month of teaching ELL at LCC International University. This time, they brought 13 blue and yellow quilts to give to Ukrainians participating in the program.
