Executive Chef Aris Cabrera, alongside Sous Chef Cristobal Cervantes, earned 1st Place at the 2026 Taste of Tubac, marking Chef Aris’ 10th championship victory at this premier culinary event.

Held on March 15 at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa, the annual Taste of Tubac was hosted by the Rotary Club of Tubac and brought together the region’s finest chefs, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and food enthusiasts for an evening of exceptional cuisine, community spirit, and entertainment. More than just a culinary celebration, the event serves as an important fundraiser, with proceeds supporting the Rotary Club’s community service projects and scholarship programs that benefit local students and the greater Santa Cruz County community.

Chef Aris and Sous Chef Cristobal wowed both the judges and attendees with their award-winning entrée:

* Boursin Mashed Potatoes

* Peppercorn Demi-Glace

The tender, slow-braised short rib, paired with creamy Boursin mashed potatoes and finished with a rich peppercorn demi-glace, was a standout dish that earned top honors and showcased the exceptional talent and teamwork of Quail Creek’s culinary team.
