The Quail Creek Veterans Golf Association (QCVGA) has opened registration for the annual Veterans Day golf tournament to be held on Friday, November 10. This tournament is our primary fundraiser for the QCVGA’s charity work. Our charity activities include gift certificates/gift cards supporting the 162nd ANG Fighter Wing’s Family Readiness Program; the Fisher House at the Tucson VA Health Center and other activities (MOAA, Camp Bravo, etc.). There will be registration forms, prize raffle and 50/50 raffle tickets available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the Madera Clubhouse as well as at the check-in area (registration deadline is November 1). You do not need to be a veteran or a member of QCVGA to play. Sorry, but this tournament is limited to the first 144 players registered. Please register early!
The tournament format will be a four-person scramble. Entry fee is $75 per person ($60 for QC annual members) which includes cart, range balls, prize fee and a buffet luncheon after play and a chance to win valuable prizes including a 2017 Club Car golf cart. Tournament details are on the registration forms which are available in the QC Pro Shop and in the Madera Clubhouse when the VGA table is manned (Tuesday and Thursday mornings). You may sign up as a single to a foursome and the tournament committee will pair singles. Check in on tournament morning at Madera Clubhouse starts at 7:00 a.m. with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun from clubhouse parking lot.
Again this year, two senior members of the 162nd Air National Guard will play with us – Brigadier General Andrew MacDonald (Commander, 162nd Fighter Wing) and Chief Master Sergeant Armando Gonzales (Command Master Chief, 162nd Fighter Wing). Brigadier General MacDonald has promised to provide brief remarks at the luncheon.
Come out to play and help us raise charity funds!
