On May 23 and 25, the Quail Creek Ladies Golf Association (QCLGA) had a very fun match play event with two different formats. The two-player teams were divided up based on balancing the handicaps into two groups: Stripes (Blue) and Stars (Red). The Stars group, with an overall total of 204 points, beat the Stripes group with 192 points. The big excitement on day two was when Nano Vasquez, QC’s assistant pro, crushed his pro-drive within 115 yards of the par 5, hole number 9, on Road Runner. The excitement continued when Robin Brannan sunk her approach shot from the 115-yard spot right into the hole for an unofficial double net eagle score, an albatross. Wow! The fun continued with a gathering at the Grill after golf. Many thanks to Deb Riddell for setting up this annual match play event.
