The Quail Creek Writers and Poets Club has had an active program in the month of June, with several members contributing at our meetings.
At our first meeting, Bob Rietschel led a discussion about famous first lines and how they influence us in selecting material to read. This was followed by Dave Bareiss encouraging us to access our website qcwap.org, which contains notes from presentations, contributions by our members, links to publications by our members, and more.
Also presenting in June (on June 15) was Jerry Tinsley, Ph.D. His topic for discussion was “Meditation and Poetry.” He led us in a lively discussion on using poetry as a way toward finding and defining understanding and enlightenment in terms of personal expression.
The club has initiated a summer project to create a book of stories about our pets. If you have a story you wish to share, please join us. We meet the first and third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. in the conference room at the Kino Conference Center.
