“Breathing Techniques for Calming the Nervous System” was the theme of the Quail Creek Nurses meeting in August. Linda Kline provided members with helpful techniques and tips for using breathing exercises to reduce stress and promote relaxation.
Linda is an active member of the QC Nurses and also facilitates a weekly meditation circle on Tuesdays in the Ocotillo Room here in QC. Throughout her nursing career, Linda has worked in many areas of nursing and currently continues to work in an orthopedic operating room.
Linda’s true passion, however, is exploring multiple methods for healing and calming the nervous system. She is a certified Eden Method Energy Practitioner as well as a certified Usui Reiki and Holy Fire Reiki Master.
What is natural, free, requires no special equipment, and is something we can all do and master? Breathing!
During times of stress, anxiety and insomnia, breathing techniques can be very helpful. Members learned and practiced several techniques during the meeting. We are fortunate to have Linda as part of our nurse group and appreciate her willingness to share her knowledge and help us all grow and breathe a little better.
In September, we are very excited to welcome Joy Bulger-Beck, M.D., Medical Director of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Clinics at Banner Health. She is also an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona. She will present “Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment” on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Janine Baxter will serve as hostess.
All QC nurses, both retired and active, are invited to attend. There are no dues—just the joy of meeting monthly and enjoying a variety of informative and fun events.
