For 59 Lady Niners, one holiday wish came true on December 12. The weather dawned bright and warm at Quail Creek for their holiday golf and annual awards luncheon. Niners President Marci Yenerich welcomed special guest and founding member Grace Thompson who organized the club 11 years ago. Also, Marci thanked all who served with her this past year: Board members: Sherry Gall, Shirley Gray and Bonnie Smith. Tournament Chairs: Althea Critchlow, Jan Topolski, Priscilla Wright and Karen Feckler and the many committee chairs.
Forty ladies participated in the annual birdies, chip-ins and ringer awards in 2013.
Annual awards were given to Karen Feckler for most improved golfer and Diane Hernandez for best putter. Diane also had five birdies this year! Diane, Carol Walton and Mary Talton received awards for three chip-ins each. Diane Hernandez was the overall gross winner on the ringer board and Kathleen Laughman was the overall net winner. First, second and third place winners for low gross and low net were also awarded in each of four flights. Congrats to all the winners!
Lots of prizes and lots of fun! Holiday centerpieces went home with a lucky lady at each table. Cheri Sipe won the 50-50 raffle and everyone enjoyed the buffet luncheon.
As a continuing tradition at holiday time, the Lady Niners again collected numerous donations for our local Community Food Bank. A special thanks to our event organizers: Cheri Sipe, Loretta Halboth, Jan Ederle, Joyce Walton and Priscilla Wright.
The Niners will be playing afternoons in January and February. Check out our website at www.qcladies9.net.
