QC Billiards Club Begins 2025 Tournaments

Dennis Desmond and Alphie Smith

On the wall in the Billiards Room at Madera clubhouse is a trophy plaque with the names of winners of the In-House Tournaments that the Quail Creek Billiards Club (QCBC) holds monthly. It was started and mounted on the wall in January of 2018 and is still updated each month with a new winner.

Bryce Dohrman is the latest to have his name take place next to former QCBC winners. Congratulations, Bryce!

Dohrman was the winner of the 9-Ball Tournament held on Jan. 4 in the Billiards Room. Second place went to Dave Sypkens. Twelve members of the club competed for the first-place honor.

On the first Saturday of February, QCBC member Skip Jones will facilitate the 10-Ball In-House Tournament. The name of the 10-ball winner will then be displayed on the plaque.

Dennis Desmond, the QCBC tournament coordinator, attends to the updates on the plaque. He also oversees the tournaments of the Travel Team, as well as the In-House Tournaments.

On Jan. 11 QCBC hosted Sun City Vistoso from Oro Valley at the Billiards Room in Madera clubhouse for an 8-Ball Tournament. Sun City won 30 to 18. Both teams had lunch at the Grill after the tournament.

QCBC’s Travel Team players were John Andersen, Bob Coulter, Bryce Dohrman, Pat Nigro, Mike Ohrel, Manny Quijada, Dick Randles, Jerry Sameshima, and Dave Sypkens.

The QCBC Travel Team looks forward to its upcoming matches.
