Pottery and Sculpture Club displays totem poles

Cheryl Osburn

The members of the Quail Creek Pottery and Sculpture Club (POTS) had fun making three Totem Poles that are displayed outside of the Creative Arts and Technology Center (CATC).

Members sculpted something seen in southwest Arizona. The Totems have cactus, desert flowers and many birds including a Roadrunner and a covey of Quail. Other sculptures created by our members include Javelina, a howling coyote, an owl, a frog, a lizard and a rattlesnake looking at a desert mouse. Last but not least, there is a desert tortoise with the flag of Arizona painted on his back. The Totem installation is in the parking area in front of the CATC building. Come and take a look.
