Dreama Fumia for Marilyn Mazeika
On the evening of December 7, 2015, our POA employees will be honored at our annual Employee Appreciation Event. One-hundred-sixty-five full and/or part-time employees serve our community in various ways in the course of a year. Some are out in front interacting daily with residents; others are in the background providing a myriad of services so that Quail Creek can be all that it is. Our team is ably and enthusiastically led by General Manager Mike Taylor. His direct reports and part of the out in front team are Operations Manager Ron Byars (Facilities, Grounds and Common Areas); Golf Course Head Pro Joel Jaress; Golf Course Superintendent J.R. Kies; Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager Chef Aris Cabrera. Each of these managers leads his own team with layers of responsibility carefully orchestrated to provide the excellent products and services we’ve come to expect.
Orchestrated by POA Board member Marilyn Mazeika, this event will provide us a celebratory venue to recognize the contributions of each department and, in fact, each team member. At 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7 the POA Board will present each employee with a gift card in varying amounts depending on their hours of service for this year. Residents are invited to join us to help congratulate our team members. But at 5:00 p.m. only the staff will remain to enjoy a special dinner served by Chef Aris and the Food & Beverage team. You might wonder, if we’re honoring our employees, why does the F&B team have to provide the dinner? Aren’t they being honored as well? When given the choice, Chef Aris decided that he’d rather have his own team host the dinner. It’s what they do and they are proud to serve their fellow team members. This is just an example of the cooperative team spirit engendered here at Quail Creek.
Now, here’s an important point, perhaps THE important point. The value of the gift cards presented on December 7 also depends on you! We’ll only be able to distribute monies that you donate. You’ll be receiving a flyer in your October ballot package that will include a request for donations to the Employee Appreciation Event (EAE). Please give as generously as you can. Donation amounts are anonymous to everyone but Marilyn who gathers and counts the donations. (She tells me that she does not recall what she has given from year to year, so there is zero likelihood she’ll remember the amount any resident gives!) Remember, any amount is truly appreciated by our staff members.
So how do you give? Donation collection boxes will be placed around the property (Clubhouse, Anza Athletic Club, Grill and Pro Shop) so that you can find a convenient place to give. You may make your donation at any time before December 1. As a reminder, staff members are our POA employees, not employees of Robson Communities, Inc. We’d like to show them how much we appreciate what they do for us each and every day.
