New Board Takes Over QCMGA

Roger Oravetz

January started a new season for the Quail Creek Men’s Golf Association, being led by a board of directors with several new members and others continuing. The members are: President Martin Wibbenhorst, Vice President Bill Sheppard, Treasurer Greg Bengault, Secretary Mark Davidson, Rules Chair George Lamping, Membership Chair Doug McNeil, Handicap Chair Russ Adamson, Tournament Chair Jim Lynch, AGA Publicity Roger Oravetz, and Awards Chair Ted Schelenski.

A complete schedule of 2021 weekly events can be viewed on the club website at qcmga.com, along with other information, such as local club rules and member news items.

The new board is now working on a review and update of the association bylaws to be also posted on the website. USGA rules and handicaps apply for all golf events.

We try to add one or two new 18-hole formats each year to the schedule to keep it interesting. We’ll also participate in the PIMA Cup this year, involving matches against other clubs in the Tucson area.

The QCMGA always welcomes new members who are Quail Creek residents or renters who enjoy fun, competitive golf games and wish to join us. New members can join by going to the AZgolf.org website, completing the application, and paying the entry fee of $55, of which $35 goes toward AZ Golf Association membership for handicap maintenance and other services.

For questions regarding membership, contact our membership chair, Doug McNeil, at [email protected] or 520-347-4120.
