Meet the new board of The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization involved in activities benefiting the local community.

Debi Gutknecht, president, moved to Quail Creek in 2022 and joined TWOQC shortly thereafter. She got involved in numerous programs, including teaching Zentangle classes and a workshop on building resilience during stress. She was TWOQC secretary in 2023, president-elect and acting president in 2024, and now president for 2025.

Janet Shropshire, president-elect, and her husband fell in love with Quail Creek while visiting, and they moved here a year later. A former high school math and computer science teacher, Janet was TWOQC membership director for two years and on the technology team handling the transition from GroupWorks to GroupSpot.

Joan Brown, secretary, moved here in 2021. A former program manager for the Vascular Fellowship Program in Michigan, she served as secretary for a variety of nonprofits. A speaker and published author in magazines, newspapers, and one book, Joan joined TWOQC several years ago because she was impressed with the scope of the organization.

Pat Holmes, treasurer, and her husband moved to Quail Creek in 2018, and she joined TWOQC that year. She has served on TWOQC’s Funding and Giving, Scholarship, and Community Outreach Committees. Pat has a lifetime of accounting experience with CPA firms, preparing financial statements and tax returns, and has served as treasurer for several local organizations.

Myra McCune, director of membership, and her husband bought their first Quail Creek home in 2017, and she quickly became involved with TWOQC and the Scholarship Committee. A retired nurse practitioner, Myra served in the Navy and as a contractor for the Air Force. She was on the board at La Posada and treasurer of the Green Valley Military Officers Association.

Nancy Jacobs, director of programs, moved to Quail Creek in 2012 after retiring from the HR department at a VA hospital in Ohio. She has held numerous TWOQC positions, including treasurer for two terms and director of funding and giving. Nancy also worked at the White Elephant for more than three years.

Deb Melton, director of scholarships, moved here from Colorado with her husband in 2018. A former teacher, Deb spent much of her adult life raising kids near Denver while helping build a software business and being a ski instructor. During six years with TWOQC, Deb held multiple TWOQC leadership positions with scholarships, funding and giving, and publicity.

Roxanne Housley, director of Community Outreach, lived in Tucson for 44 years before moving to Quail Creek. She held an executive position for 30 years with Canyon Ranch Health Resorts. Involved in a variety of QC activities, Roxanne has been a QC Unit Rep, pickleball social chair and board member, and now TWOQC Community Outreach director.

Inna Shames, director of publicity, moved to Quail Creek with her husband in 2019. She previously did sales and marketing management in several industries. She joined TWOQC three years ago, serving on the Funding and Giving and Scholarship Committees.
