The Library at Madera Clubhouse has served Quail Creek for the last fourteen years, originally consisting of only a few donated books shelved in the old fitness center. In recent years, as the community has grown, so has the Library, now circulating an average of over 1000 books each month.

To address the growth, the Library Management Team has sought new members and new ideas. One of the recent additions to the Team is Dawn Bangs who has agreed to co-chair the group. Dawn, a three-year resident, has years of experience as a librarian and teacher, including assignments in Wisconsin, Arizona, California, England, Okinawa, Korea and Japan. She has been a member of the Library Executive Committee (now named Library Management Team) for over a year and is active in the Ceramics Club.

Ginny Post was recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation for her ten-plus years of service to the Library, including assignments as Chair and a member of the Executive Committee. Ginny now resides at La Posada and would welcome hearing from her Quail Creek friends.

Residents and guests are reminded that the Library has a good collection of jigsaw puzzles located in two cabinets to the left of the door leading into the coffee bar. The cabinets are usually full, so each time a new puzzle is donated an older puzzle is removed and donated to the Animal League of Green Valley.
