Let’s Travel Club Recap

Let’s Travel Club photo taken by the Dog House Saloon, one of the original buildings that remains at Tanque Verde Ranch. The Dog House Saloon supposedly got its name from the ranch hands’ drinking too much. They would go home and be in the dog house!

Due to the success of a recent Let’s Travel Club day trip to Tanque Verde Ranch and Mount Lemmon in mid-July, the exact outing was offered again on Aug. 22. We had a delicious buffet lunch at Tanque Verde Ranch before heading to Mount Lemmon.

Tanque Verde Ranch was established over 150 years ago in 1868 by a wealthy landowner, Don Emilio Carrillo. It has 640 acres surrounded by Saguaro National Park East.
