April 20 found members of the Let’s Travel Club at the movies! Meeting at the Mercado, members rode the streetcar to dinner at The Monica. The Monica is a tribute to Monica Flin, the founder of Tucson’s oldest restaurant family. Afterwards, it was a short walk to the historic Fox Theatre to enjoy the 1931 silent classic City Lights. Maestro Gomez and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra brought the film to life with Charlie Chaplin’s own charming score. City Lights is considered to be one of the gems of Chaplin’s career.
