Three Tony awards and successful productions in New York, London and across the world! Quail Creek residents will have the opportunity to be entertained by yet another Ken Ludwig masterpiece. Your very own friends and neighbors who make up the QC Performing Arts Guild presented to you last April the outrageously funny Moon Over Buffalo. Now they will keep the bar raised by another Ludwig production of Lend Me A Tenor.
The New York Times critic described this as “One of two great farces by a living writer.”
Important dates to remember are as follows: Three performances of this comedy will be on the Crystal Ballroom stage on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 16, 17 and 18 at 7:00 p.m. Karen Doyle will direct the play with help from Assistant Director Frank Gunn. A very talented cast consists of Ray Hebert, Diana Paul, Francesca Schelenski, Jeff Webster, Pam Campbell and Davey Jones. Joining PAG for their first appearance at Quail Creek are two experienced actors with considerable time on stage: Sandra Haegele and Jerry Smith.
Please find below a synopsis of the play to tease your taste buds:
It’s 1934 and the Cleveland Opera Company awaits the arrival of the world class tenor, Tito Merelli. His fans have dubbed him the title of Il Stupendo and are eager to see him in the evening’s performance of Otello. The spoiled and rambunctious opera staff and stars soon turn the evening into a battle of egos and love affairs. Will Max, the assistant manager, straighten out this chaos and realize his lifelong dream?
Seating for Buffalo was so popular the PAG will continue with the cabaret style seating of tables of six seats to give optimum viewing and a place to put your drink or bottle! Tickets are just $17.50 per seat (we will accept seven or eight at a table if you purchase the whole table). PAG will be selling the tickets on Valentine’s Day, February 14, in the Clubhouse Lobby from at 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Cash or check payable to QCPAG will be accepted. Follow up dates for ticket sales will take place in the same location/same time the following Saturday, February 21 and in front of The Grill on Monday, February 23 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. (pasta night!).
Watch What’s Happening daily to see more ticket sales information. Get six or eight friends together soon, because last April’s play sold out all three nights.
