Ever since the Lady Putters club was formed, whenever the ladies complete their scorecards and each member of the team gets par or below, they mark the hole with a star. They now keep track of which team gets the most stars. The larger the team, the more difficult it is to get a lot of star holes, but recently, before the summer heat hit, three five-person teams each earned nine stars. The putter “pros” included Lynda Pilcher, Donna Dabeck, Wendy Van Dyck, Mary Heffner, and Joan Gunnarson; Lou Moultrie, Judy McKinley, Jonel Dlugos, Carol Cooper, and Yoshie Hennessy; and Tina Amado, Glenda Nelli, Linda Kelly, Nancy McDaniel, and Shari Cerrone. On a different date, five-person teams with eight stars included Lynda Pilcher, Lee Schmidt, Neila Kozel, Wendy Van Dyck, and Jonel Dlugos, and Juanita Janssen, Kathleen Larsen, Sylvia Butler, Sandie Root, and Cindy Losk.
A four-person team with 11 stars included Sylvia Perry, Karen Satchell, Linda Weissman, and Carol Cooper. On different dates, Lauren Miele, Candace Webb, Peggy Swanson, and Cathy Leary; Frannie Vanselow, Michelle Cowers, Linda Cottrill, and Roni Carrick; Julie Daines, Linda Kelly, Denise White, and Gerri Rasinski; and Char Brehm, Roni Carrick, Kathy Dorr, and Carol Cooper made up four-person teams that earned nine stars.
When the temps entered the triple-digit stage, team size shrunk to three. On one date, two three-person teams earned 13 stars. Team members included Karen Hugus, Roni Carrick, and Randi Kauppi, as well as Ann Hay, Jana Backus, and Linda Cottrill. Getting 10 stars were team members Betsy Martin, Judy White, and Jill Wibbenhorst.
Other stars during the two-month reporting period who putted exceedingly well were Dorothy Hoffman, who scored seven holes-in-one on one day, and Roni Carrick who scored six. Scoring five holes-in-one on a single day were Sandie Root, Sylvia Butler, Lynda Pilcher, Scotty Giddings, Wendy Van Dyck, and Janet Wegner, who won that distinction twice. If they had not previously gotten the Quail Pin for at least five holes-in-one in 2025, they will receive one. There is a limit of one pin being awarded to a Lady Putter in a calendar year.
