Lady Putters ‘Stars’

Peggy McGee

When the Putters meet each Wednesday and everyone on a team gets a score of par or better, they mark their scorecards with a star. The more star holes a team gets, the better their composite score. In their first official counting of the stars, three teams had eight or more star holes. The lone three-person team of Susan Schaefer, Mary Talton, and Connie Ownby had nine stars. Two four-person teams each earned eight stars. One of these teams included Nancy Mann, Fleta Brewka, Katy Bettinger, and Frannie Vanselow, and the other included Linda Carver, Gwen Vaught, Jonel Dlugos, and Jill Wibbenhorst.

Scoring five holes-in-one in the past month were Liz Anderson, Sherry Holman, Yoshie Hennessy, Julie Daines, Sherri Norine, and Shari Cerrone.

Until fall, the Lady Putters will start putting at 8:30 a.m., with check-in beginning at 8 a.m.

All female residents are invited to give the Putters a try. There is a $1 weekly greens fee. Annual dues are $20. For more information on this group, please visit their website at quailcreekputters.com.
