Lady Putters Show Up to Putt Despite the Heat

Peggy McGee

Although many have been traveling with what seems like a never-ending summer, with triple digit temps day after day, an average of 45 ladies show up each week to try to improve their putting scores.

There was only one money hole winner in the past month. Carol Sheppard won $5 for her accomplishment on July 31. Yoshie Hennessy scored another five holes-in-one on July 24. And the ladies had a summer first: Putters was canceled at 7:58 a.m. when lightning struck and then much-needed rain started to fall.

Those who have been thinking about giving the Lady Putters a try should come to the back patio of the clubhouse every Wednesday. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m., and putting starts promptly at 8 a.m. There is a $1 greens fee each time one putts.

Coming up in October will be the annual Battle of the Sexes on the 4th. For more information on this fun group, please visit www.quailcreekputters.com.
