The Lady Putters held their summer brunch on May 29. Weather was warm but not unbearably hot. After putting, they enjoyed a lunch with hearty muffaletta sandwiches.
Winning the Coveted Quail for the first time was Maridell Dixon with a low net score of 30.67. Tying for a low gross Score of 36.60 were Jan Ederle and Yoshie Hennessy. Once again getting the most holes-in-one during the six-week period was Yoshie Hennessy with 14. Some Putters don’t get that many in an entire year!
Jan Ederle and Carol Sheppard tied with getting five holes-in-one in one putting session. Sylvia Butler, Diane Dodd, Patty Hall, Carol Sheppard and Berta Zander went home from putting $5 richer for getting a hole-in-one on the Money Hole, traditionally the most difficult hole on the green. Neila Kozel got holes-in-one twice.
Achieving a score under 40 without a handicap for the first time were Jackie Coomes and Lynda Nichols with a 39 and Judy Strecker, Peggy Wynkoop, Saville Gardner and Sharon Prusak with a 38. Three ladies, Joan Campbell, Shelby Geddes and Sung Whitehead, earned a 37 while Julie Mocek parred the course.
Twenty-nine ladies received a gift card valued at $11 for putting the required number of times during the previous six-week period and attending the luncheon.
With the intense sun and summer heat, ladies are encouraged to wear hats while on the putting green. Even with thick hair, our scalps are subject to sunburn.
