Dressed in holiday attire, the Lady Putters arrived for their weekly putting with bags full of groceries to help the Green Valley/Sahuarita Food Bank clients prepare special dinners as they celebrated Christmas. In addition to grocery staples like cereal and peanut butter, the 220 pounds of food included cans of cranberry sauce, yams, stuffing mix and baking supplies to enable the needy to make traditional holiday meals. The $175 received in monetary donations was used to buy turkeys.
Food Bank Executive Director Mary Jane Goodrick expressed her appreciation for the generosity of the Putters when so many are suffering at this time of year.
